If you are planning to host a new website with GISOL.com or already have a website on GISOL.com and want to transfer the domain to a new hosting site, Be Aware!
A domain name registered by GISOL on behalf of the customer remains the intellectual property of GISOL. All domain names registered by GISOL are leased to the customers at all times with no exceptions. Customers may not change the DNS records or transfer any domain names registered by GISOL to any competitive registrar.
What does this mean to the customer?
YOU DO NOT OWN YOUR DOMAIN NAME, AT LEAST NOT WITH GISOL!
GISOL offers a DNS management package which provides a DNS pointing service to an alternate hosting provider. GISOL still remains the registrar of your domain name.
There is a fee for the package which is at the discretion of GISOL. In other words, you are at their nercy. The DNS management package is not listed in any of the services or extras on their website, only in their Service Contract policy. What this means is; once you sign up with GISOL, you are pretty much stuck with them. You can transfer you website to a different host by paying for the DNS management package and pointing your domain DNS to the new host.
This is a big rip off with GISOL.com. Most hosting companies will allow you to change your DNS records and transfer your domain name registrar by simply requesting a Registration Authorization code.
I am not saying GISOL.com is a bad hosting company because, they are not. I think their domain name registration policy is a bad one.
One of my biggest complaints with telephone support, with a huge number of companies particularly, hosting companies is; the ability to speak to a warm body, especially one that you can understand. And, this is a problem with GISOL.com.

I just cancelled my account with GISOL after 7 years of ‘hosting’ (20% uptime) nightmare! I’m planning to setup a website or article just like yours with experiences with this crazy ‘host’…
I lost several domains with them, and I have finally found a good reliable place to put my site under… although I had to sign up for a whole new domain, since GISOL kept my domain hostage…
Hopefully the cancellation process will go well since they are such a shady ‘company’ (which seems like just one guy in his mom’s basement), if not serious legal action has to be taken..
